“Let’s Bury The Hatchet”

If you have not already been to Stumpy’s Hatchet House, you have got to go! We went there for the first time a couple of weeks ago and it was such a cool experience. Great Location– right off the parkway. It’s also conveniently located right next to Brick House Tavern + Tap which has awesome food.  Stumpy’s is definitely a must-try.  Go with a group, just relax and throw some hatchets!

I’m Back!

Hey Guys!

Sorry I haven’t been around in a while, but I am back!

Some pretty exciting things have happened in my life. For one, I met the love of my life… but I also got an amazing job teaching the sweetest kids how to sing. I am so grateful and feel truly blessed for everything that has been happening in my life. If you had told me that my life would be this awesome 7 months ago, I wouldn’t have believed you.

My sister also got married and I couldn’t be happier for them. The wedding was absolutely beautiful and it was such an amazing day. I am so sorry I have been away for a little while, but I am back! I can’t wait to share recipes, home decor, and so many other fun things with all of you! Keep smiling, and keep going!

Warm Coconut Millet Porridge

If you have a half an hour to spare in the morning, then this is a must-try!

This porridge is not only delicious, but very filling. Millet is not well-known, and it definitely should be. Not only is it gluten-free, but its also alkalizing, and easy to digest!

Jeremiah 29:13

Jeremiah 29:13

“If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.”

So I wanted to let you guys know why I’ve been away from my blog for a little while. I have really been taking the time to seek God and grow more in my relationship with Him. I have found that even through the toughest of storms, I am content and truly happy. It’s so easy for us to get caught up in ourselves and that’t not the way it should be. Instead of being selfish, it’s better and more rewarding to be selfless. In the bible, Jesus says “Those who are the greatest among you should take the lowest rank, and the leader should be like a servant.” You see, Jesus had the opportunity to have anything and everything a person could “want” in life. The devil tempted him with the world. But Jesus served others. Jesus led a life of giving and loving. When I hear people say “What Would Jesus Do?” I think to myself, serve. So I’ve been taking more and more time out of my day where I would be doing something selfish and doing something selfless instead.

God has been blessing me above and beyond what I could ask or think! The opportunities I have been given have been so incredible that I can’t even help but tear with happiness. God has been giving me favor in my finances, and favor in restoration of many relationships. God has also given me comfort in learning the lesson of patience. I know that God’s plan is better than anything that I could do on my own. I know that my best days are ahead of me! So now I want to ask you, what are you waiting for?! I’m not asking you to give up your life. But why not serve others today? I dare you to do one selfless act of kindness today!

I love each and every one of you who reads this blog.

May the Lord bless you!

Seek Answers, Not Problems

It’s so easy for us to get caught up with what is wrong in our lives.  Maybe something isn’t going as planned or turned out the way you were hoping so you let yourself dwell on it. We tend to focus on the negative and throw ourselves little pity parties. There is always going to be someone who makes us angry or upset. There will be choices that we make, and we will have to pay the consequences. These things are inevitable. But the best thing we can do is put the pieces back together, and move forward.

“Identify your problems, but give your power and energy to solutions.” – Tony Robins

Yes, we need to acknowledge what isn’t working but don’t let it take up all of your time. We can’t let ourselves dwell on negativity. We need to shift our focus. What are we going to do about it?

This is one of my all-time favorite dishes. There is so much flavor and it’s pretty simple to make. I’ve made this for my family quite a few times and they go crazy over it every single time.

Makeup Must-Haves

I don’t think I could emphasize enough how essential this is to my everyday routine. My eyes have a tendency to get oily but once I use this primer my eye shadow literally lasts all day into night. It’s my little miracle in a bottle.

Urban Decay – Eyeshadow Primer Potion

The Carli Bybel Palette is literally life changing. The pigmentation is beautiful. AND when you see the price, that will change your life too. I’ve used so many different palettes and they cost $$$. But this palette is quite literally perfect, if I might say. The original price of this palette was 20.00– which is CHEAP for an eye shadow palette. But I’ve never actually seen it cost the original price. Right now, you can get it on SALE for 12.50. Now that is a great deal!
