5 Ways To Exercise Without Going To The Gym



So I’m just going to say it, I hate going to the gym. I don’t like the atmosphere and I don’t like “working out.” I do love being active though. I try to incorporate being active throughout my day, here’s how:

1. Take the stairs instead of the elevator.

This is HUGE!!!! You can burn so many calories and tone your glutes and thighs just by taking the stairs! It really makes such a difference, and you kind of feel better about yourself when you do it. Small change, Big difference.


2. Walk It Out

Walk instead of taking the subway or bus! Ok, Now if you don’t live in the city this one may be a bit tough but you get the point! Whenever I am in the city I make it a point to walk everywhere I need to go. It’s not only good exercise but there is so much for you to see that you might miss out on otherwise! You can even park at the end of the parking lot just so you have to walk a bit further to the store. It’s the little things!!


3. Drop It Like A Squat

This is probably one of the easiest things to add to your day! Whether you’re waiting for your Uber or waiting for the microwave to finish cooking your meal, squat!! It’s such simple thing to do and it tones your entire lower body.


4. Commercial Break Cardio

I get so bored sitting through commercials and it usually takes about a good 2 minutes until your show comes back on, so do some jumping jacks!!! Jumping jacks are seriously amazing. They not only increase your heart rate but increase your metabolism. It improves blood circulation and improves the oxygen levels in the body. Do your jumping jacks!



This is one of the best workouts in my opinion. When I clean, I sweat, and when I sweat, I burn calories. This is so pro-active. Not only are you exercising but you’re getting things done! I’m all about productivity.
